Mission


To establish a world class centre of excellence in higher education and committed to advancing intellectual and human capacity resources through teaching, learning, research and creative thinking, their transmission and application and to fostering the advancement of learning in Sierra Leone and the world at large

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide management and administrative support to all aspects of research and development across the University.
  • Facilitate the development and review of the University research agenda, policies, guidelines and management system to ensure effective contributions to national development.
  • Coordinate productive interactions between the University and external institutions and through active partnerships aimed at grant seeking, collaborative research, institutional development and staff capacity building.
  • Contribute to the University management decisions and perform any other tasks required by the Office of the Vice- Chancellor and Principal including periodic updates on research and development in the University

Projects

Projects carried out by academics at Njala University vary from multi-year multi-million-dollar projects to providing short tailored workshops of a few days. Most projects fall broadly into the categories of Agriculture, Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management, Health or Social Science and Development; reflecting the basic divisions of the University into Faculty.
