ONLINE APPLICATION FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC YEAR
Njala University announces for the information of the general public, applicants, parents and guardians that online applications are open for the admission of prospective applicants into various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the 2024/2025 academic year. Applicants should take note of the following:
Applicants are advised to visit the University’s website https://njala.edu.sl and carefully read all relevant information and guidelines for prospective applicants before applying.
All prospective applicants MUST pay their application processing fee at any of the branches of the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank at the cost of NLE 400 (new denomination) for Undergraduate Courses and NLE 600 (new denomination) for Postgraduate Courses. The Njala University Fees account Number is 003010002429120119.
Upon payment, the bank will print and issue you a Payment Voucher through the Teller Receipt roll which generates batch reference.
All applications MUST be submitted ONLINE through the Njala University Admissions portal: https://app.njala.edu.sl

General Admission Requirements for Graduate Programmes
A. Taught Masters Programmes
The basic requirement for admission into a postgraduate programme at Njala University is a degree from a recognized university in the relevant field of study. Departments may, however, demand additional requirements.
B. M.Phil and PhD Programmes
The Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees of Njala University are, essentially, research-based degrees awarded to candidates of outstanding academic and professional standing. Admission into these programmes, therefore, is based on several criteria that the candidate should meet. These include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Possession of a first degree of at least Second Class, First division (21)
- Possession of postgraduate qualification (PGDE; M.A.; M.Sc.; M.Ed. etc.)
- Clear articulation of a research focus to be contained in the Abstract submitted with the application form
- Evidence that the candidate is in touch with or has identified a competent supervisor in the University willing to supervise him/her is an advantage.
Duration of Programme
Unless otherwise stated,
• Masters Programmes (Full-Time) are for Two (2) Calendar Years and (Part-Time) for Three (3) Calendar Years duration.
