Research in Sierra Leone Studies (RISLS): Weave (ISSN: 2167-9835) is a refereed, open access, open-text, electronic journal that publishes articles, book reviews, interviews, drama, fiction, and poetry on Sierra Leonean themes from national, international, diasporic, and global perspectives. The journal can be freely accessed world-wide via the Internet.

The Journal of Sierra Leone Studies is the first Journal dedicated solely to Sierra Leone and to have been published for a long time. The Journal will not concentrate on one area of academic study and invites contributions from anyone researching and writing on Sierra Leone to send their articles to: John Birchall for consideration. Prospective contributions should be between 3500-5000 words in length, though we will in special circumstances consider longer articles and authors can select whether they wish to be peer reviewed or not. Articles should not have appeared in any other published form before. The Editorial Board reserves the right to suggest changes they consider are needed to the relevant author (s) and to not publish if such recommendations are ignored.

The Educational Research Network for West and Central Africa (ERNWACA) or Réseau Ouest et Centre African de Recherche en Education (ROCARE) was established in 1989 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Currently, ERNWACA is managing a wide range of programs and projects in its sixteen member countries. These countries are: the ten French-speaking countries of Benin, Burkina Faso, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Central African Republic, Senegal and Togo. The two bilingual countries of Cameroon and Mauritania the lusophone country of Guinea Bissau, and the four English-speaking countries of Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
