Dr. Sawyerr is a seasoned teacher spanning 24 Years in the disciplines of Soil Physics, Soil Morphology and Genesis and Soil Survey and Mapping.  Research interests includes but not limited to developing low cost appropriate Climate Smart Agricultural systems for sustainable production of crops on marginal gravelly soils on rolling terrains of Sierra Leone.

Dr. Sawyerr, in collaboration with other Scientists, has published 10 research papers in peer review international journals. Dr has also served as an IFAD consultant and conducted over soil–crop suitability surveys for both local and international farmers in Sierra Leone since 1988.
