[25-01-2019] The African Development Bank (AfDB) hold a Consultative meeting with Njala University (NU) on the Sierra Leone Agro-Industry and rice value chain project.
The Bank is undertaking a preparation mission to Sierra Leone from the 22nd– 30th January, 2019. The main objective of the mission is to hold consultative meeting with Government Officials, especially key stakeholders from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of agriculture and Forestry, Ministry of Trade and Industry, other relevant government agencies, key sector actors, agribusiness associations, research institutions, farmers, agriculture inputs and service providers and other Development Partners. The Mission will also determine and capitalize on the reasoning for the prioritization of rice as the selected agricultural value chain commodity.
At the end of a successful meeting, Njala University and the Africa Development Bank mutually agreed to collaborate on the Sierra Leone Agro-Industry and the Rice Value Chain project which will be launch this year.
