26-06-2019. Njala University (NU) hosts the University of Sierra Leone (USL), London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) for a 5 day Social Sciences PhD Writing workshop. The workshop will take place on 26-28 June 2019 at the Njala University Guest House, Njala Campus, Moyamba District, Sierra Leone, starting each day at 9:am prompt.
The theme of the workshop is “Building Research Capacity in Sierra Leone” and will cover the following thematic areas: International development, Public Health, Humanitarian Response, Public Authority, Health Emergencies, Conflict Studies, Post-Conflict Recovery, Local Governance, Religion and Faith-based actors, ICT in Education.
This workshop will consist of structured seminars on the subject of writing/ publishing, as well as designated sessions for writing. The workshop is specifically aimed at early-career scholars, and will offer support for those with limited experience of publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Scholars from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE), UK will be partnered with scholars from Sierra Leone.
The workshop is a partnership between the Centre for Public Authority (LSE), Firoj Lalji Centre for the Study of Africa (LSE), Department for International Development (LSE and) RECAP (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and University of Sierra (USL).
