Three (3) Universities from the Republic of Sierra Leone have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The signing ceremony took place at the Council Chamber of KNUST.
The University of Makeni (UNIMAK), University of Sierra Leone (USL) and Njala University (NU) signed a five-year renewable agreement to facilitate a mutual academic relationship between the three universities and selected faculties of KNUST. Under the agreement, Colleges, Faculties, Departments and Centres in KNUST will facilitate the realisation of the peculiar academic needs of staff and students of these partner institutions, through postgraduate programme packages including; staff capacity building for terminal degrees, staff exchanges and sabbatical leave opportunities.
The other areas of focus include joint research, joint proposal writing and student exchanges.
Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, Vice-Chancellor and Mr. Andrews Kwasi Boateng, Registrar signed for KNUST. Professor Joseph Turay, Vice Chancellor and Mr. William Alpha, Director of International Collaborations of UNIMAK, Professor Forday Sahr and Mrs. Olive Barrie of USL and Professor Abdullah Mansarray and Dr. Muneer Jallah of NU signed on behalf of their institutions.
