DIRECTORATE OF INFORMATION COMMUNICATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY HAS COMMENCED A FIVE DAY WEBSITE CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (WCMS) TRAINING
As part of their Directorate's Strategic priorities to improving Njala University's online presence, the ICT Directorate has commenced an in housed website training for core staff members including Academic and administrative staff of Njala University drawn from Freetown, Bo and Njala.
The five days website training is being facilitated by Lamtech Consulting Enterprises, the University's website housing service provider.
The objective of the training is to ensure that the University's website is up to date and that staff members are well equipped in the administration of the WebPages of their schools and departments are participating in a three day website training at the Network Operations Centre on Njala Campus .
Director, Information and Communication Technology, Thomas Philip Songu said technology is core to our daily lives stressing the significance of the web presence in the University.
He said the Njala University Website will serve as a marketing platform and an information repository inclusive happenings by all the respective Schools, departments, and Directorates adding that students would make judicious use of it especially in relation to admissions on line and other relevant information as provided for by the respective Heads
He craved the indulgence of his audience to inform staff about the functionality of the website and urged all to be champions in information sharing.
Human Resource Manager, Paul K. Ngawuja described the training as vital noting that it falls within the realms of the University's mission and vision and encouraged the participants to be motivated in order to replicate or cascade knowledge gained in their offices.
The training facilitator from Lamtech Consulting Enterprises, Mr. Mohamed A. Jalloh said at the end of the training, participants will be masters in managing the website contents.
